Rules

2023/24 League Rules:

 

  • 2- 20-minute halves. Time will stop for free throws the last 2 minutes in the first half and the last 2 minutes of the second half for all whistles.
  • 2 timeouts per half. 1 timeout per overtime period
  • If 6 or more rostered players are available to play no fill in players will be allowed to play regardless of if they are in the league or not. Fill in players should try to be of equal ability to those missing.
  • At least 4 rostered players must start a game for it to be counted. If less than 4 are available, the game will be a forfeit but can be played. 
  • Fill in players will not be allowed during playoffs. If a team does not have enough to play, the game will be a forfeit. The game can be played with a fill-in at that point, but score will not be kept.
  • If a rostered player for any reason decides to leave the league during the season a replacement player may be added. Wait list players will be placed first and all efforts will be made to replace the player with an equal ability player. It will not necessarily be the first player on the list.  The replacement player MUST pay the prorated fees for the remainder of the season and will be paid to the player that leaves. If fees are not paid prior to playoffs the replacement player will be ineligible.
  • Fighting will not be tolerated and will result in expulsion from the league.
  • 4 technical fouls in a season and the player could be suspended for the remainder of the season depending on the severity of the technical 
  • Any game ejection by technical fouls or referee discretion will result in a 1 game suspension.
  • 6 personal fouls per player- teams can play with less than 5 if teammates foul out.
  • After 7 team fouls per half 1 and 1 after 10 fouls- 2 shots
  • Games will start within 5-10 minutes of their scheduled times. Make sure players are there and ready to go. Teams are permitted to start play with 4.
  • All rule disputes should be discussed with commissioners.
  • Teams will be picked via draft. ONLY Captains and Keeper can draft. NO EXCEPTIONS this year! Players are not guaranteed to be where they want. The goal is to make equal teams. 
  • If there are more teams than captains, the collective draft group will pick the teams. A captain and keeper caliber player will be named to those teams before the draft begins. 
  • OT will be one 3-minute period. If still tied 2-minute periods will be played until there is a winner. 1 time per period. Stopped clock and 1 and 1 throughout.
